WILOFA comes into play whenever you need more grip on your components – whether in an existing production process or during the development phase. With our electroplated diamond coating, we apply diamond grains specifically to the surface of your components. This allows us to increase the coefficient of friction and provide more grip for your individual application.

One of WILOFA’s key advantages is the wide range of component sizes we can process with our electroplated diamond coating. We coat very small components starting from 0.3 mm as well as large components with dimensions of up to 2 meters. The limiting factor is the component weight, which must not exceed 20 kg.

Choose the material that is best suited to your process – we will find the appropriate coating solution. Our electroplated diamond and sapphire-grain coatings are suitable for various materials, including stainless steel, steel, brass, copper and aluminum. In certain applications, Galvano ABS can also be coated.

Delivery dates are agreed individually and directly with you. Reliable delivery is particularly important to us. If you have an urgent or short-term requirement, we will work with you to find a suitable solution – because when things get critical, we are there for you.

In most cases, existing coatings can be removed and the original components can subsequently be recoated. This allows components to be reused several times. Recoating is not only cost-efficient but also sustainable, as existing components can continue to be used.

We use an electroplating process in which a nickel matrix is built up while diamond or sapphire grains are simultaneously embedded within it. Depending on the application, we can individually adjust both the size and geometry of the grains as well as their degree of embedding in the nickel matrix. This creates a coating specifically tailored to your component and its intended application.

Partial coating is particularly useful when only specific areas of a component need to be coated with diamond or sapphire grains. We define together with you which surfaces should be coated and which should remain uncoated, based on your individual application. We will be happy to advise you and develop the appropriate coating solution together with you.

Our customers are located all over the world – including the USA, Japan, Thailand and India. However, Europe remains our largest market. From our site in Germany, we supply customers throughout Europe and worldwide with our diamond and sapphire-grain coatings.

The automotive industry and large-scale plant engineering are particularly well represented. WILOFA DIAMOND coatings are used whenever components need to be held securely, when something is slipping, when a surface needs to be ground, or when the coefficient of friction of a component needs to be specifically increased. We offer a wide range of diamond grains in different grain sizes and geometries for our coatings. Depending on the application, sapphire or CBN grains can also be used. Our electroplating process takes place at a comparatively low temperature of approximately 50 °C. As a result, structural changes to the component being coated are very unlikely. This enables gentle coating even for components where the material properties need to be preserved.

Components to be coated may, for example, be through-hardened, plasma-nitrided or black-oxide treated. Even with these pre-treated surfaces, we can achieve excellent adhesion of the coating to the base material. If your components have undergone special or unusual hardening processes, please contact us. Together, we will assess how your components can also be coated safely and reliably.

Customer focus also means flexibility when it comes to quantities: Do you need just one component? No problem – you will of course receive a quotation. Do you need 1,000 units? We are the right partner for that as well. Whether you require a single component, a small batch or larger quantities, we will work with you to find the right solution for your application.

In many technical applications, a specifically increased coefficient of friction is essential for reliable force transmission and stable processes. With our diamond coating, we have already achieved a coefficient of friction of 0.75. The coefficient of friction achievable for your specific application depends on the component and operating conditions and is therefore evaluated individually.

You can send us your existing component directly for coating. Alternatively, we can also handle the complete manufacturing of the component, including the subsequent diamond or sapphire-grain coating. All we need is the corresponding technical drawing. This means you can receive both component manufacturing and coating from a single source.
